Cambodia 2024

With a flight into Phnom Penh, followed by a short domestic flight and road journey to Siem Reap, I made it to Cambodia. Travelling by car through rural villages offered a glimpse into everyday life—stilted houses, rice fields stretching to the horizon, and children waving as we passed. The pace felt slower and more grounded, and moving between cities was refreshingly straightforward. By the time we arrived in Siem Reap, the atmosphere was relaxed yet full of quiet energy, setting the tone for exploring the country’s history and culture.

Visiting Angkor Wat was the clear highlight of the journey. Arriving before sunrise, the silhouette of the temple slowly emerged against a pink and gold sky, creating a moment that felt almost unreal. Walking through the ancient corridors and intricately carved stone walls was both humbling and inspiring. The positives of the trip were everywhere—from the warmth and kindness of the people to the incredible food and deep sense of history. Cambodia offered a powerful mix of beauty, resilience, and authenticity that stayed with me long after the journey ended.
