From the moment I stepped onto the Narita Express, travelling felt seamless—clean stations, punctual trains, and clear signage made navigating a huge city surprisingly easy. Moving between neighbourhoods on the subway was an experience in itself, each stop revealing a different side of Tokyo, from neon-lit streets to quiet residential pockets. After a few days in the capital, I boarded the Shinkansen to Kyoto, gliding past cities and countryside at incredible speed.
